Return PolicyAny book may be returned within fourteen days of receipt for a full refund. It must be in the same condition as originally sent. Please contact us first to arrange a return. Internationally shipped items are not available for returns.

Rare first edition, first printing of John Steinbeck's magnum opus 'East of Eden' in beautiful condition.
Contains all markers of true first printing. 'First Published by Viking Press in 1952' and 'Printed in U.S.A. by H Wolff Book Manufacturing Co.' stated on copyright page. 'Bite' typo present on page 281. First state dust jacket with author portrait and no reviews. Original $4.50 price intact.
Includes original dust jacket in near fine condition. Jacket has an approx. 1-inch closed tears on bottom and front top near fold, edge wear present on top and bottom of jacket. Book itself in near fine condition with no markings, inscriptions, or creasing. Small stain present on front text block.
Steinbeck considered East of Eden to be his magnum opus. The novel explores several generations of families in the Salinas Valley from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries.
