Octavo, original black cloth, spine and front board stamped in gilt and metallic red. Publishers red top stain still vibrant. In a very good original dust jacket, unclipped ($15.00), with two approx. one-inch closed tears at the bottom edge of the front panel. Interior is clean with no marking, inscriptions, plates, or otherwise. Some rubbing on rear board and top edges of boards. Binding is strong and square.
Copyright page states “First Edition,” with no subsequent printings indicated. There is no book club blind stamp on rear board indicating a true first printing.
