Animal Farm, George Orwell - First American Edition, 1946

First American Edition of Animal Fam by George Orwell in beautiful condition. Very rare in this condition!

This book has all markers of a First American Edition: 'First American Edition' is stated on the copyright page, and there is no book club dot on rear board. It is bound in black cloth.

The book is in near fine condition with strong binding and original dust jacket. There is an owner's inscription on the first page. Dust jacket is in very good condition, however it is price clipped and has closed tear on top rear. There is light edge wear on front cover and spine (see pictures).

Time magazine chose Animal Farm as one of the 100 best English-language novels (1923 to 2005); it also featured at number 31 on the Modern Library List of Best 20th-Century Novels, and number 46 on the BBC's The Big Read poll. It won a Retrospective Hugo Award in 1996 and is included in the Great Books of the Western World selection.
