First American Edition of Nineteen Eight-Four by George Orwell in beautiful condition. Very rare in this condition!

This book has all markers of a First American Edition: 'First American Edition' is stated on the copyright page, and there is no book club dot on rear board. It is bound in beige cloth. There are two versions of the American dust jackets, one blue and one red. And here, no priority has been established. The price of $3.00 is on the upper front flap.

The book looks pristine and includes original dust jacket. Dust jacket is not price clipped and has closed tear on top front cover and light edge wear on bottom front cover and spine (see pictures). There are no plates, markings or inscriptions inside the the book.

Nineteen Eighty-Four (also published as 1984) is a dystopian novel and cautionary tale by English writer George Orwell. It was published in 1949 by Secker & Warburg (British Edition) and Harcourt (American Edition). It is Orwell's ninth and final book completed in his lifetime, as well as his most celebrated work.
